I have chosen to :+fav: deviations which I either think are really cool, or which I think are really cool *and* I believe I can learn from. Additionaly I really really love it when artists reveal the secrets behind the artwork.

As I am primarily interested in digital photography I have collected a handfull of web pages that I use more or less on a regular basis. I would like to share them with you.

Digital Photography School [link]
Previously reccommended by *Photo--Assignment. This site regularly publishes useful tips and tutorials for beginners in digial photography.

Strobist [link]
Some fine expert tips and tutorials on off-camera flash photography. In the right column there are a few drop-down menus for beginner "courses" and on-site assignment descriptions.

Kelby Training [link]
Some of the most talented photographers I know of share their knowledge here. It is not entirely free, but I believe it's worth it. I particularly like the photo sessions with David Ziser [link] and Joe McNally [link]

Flickr [link]
There is hardly any need to elaborate on this, other than to mention that the strobist forum, as well as the strobist group [link] are located here.

eBay [link]
I bought an SC-17 TTL sync cord for my Nikon SB-600 flash and a big 110 cm studio reflector of off eBay. I'm also planning to get a couple more reflectors, a speedlight or two, and radio flash trigger. Until now I haven't had any problems with scams or dishonesty, although one can never be too careful.
Since I live in Norway I also use norwegian (finn.no) and swedish (blocket.se) sites that compare to eBay. I guess that wherever you are living there are some kind of web pages that compare in function.

Thanks to everyone who has faved my artwork or added me to their watch lists.

deviantID

Me and my wife recently purchased a Nikon D40. We are aware that this is not a pro camera, and that none of us has any formal training in photography, but we both wish to learn. Any constructive comments are therefore very welcome.
I myself am also interested in digital postproduction, webdesign and even in drawing. I do not have any formal training in any of those either.

Since I got an account at dA I have found that Flickr suits my interest better. Part of the reason is that I am primarily interested in photography and not Manga art which seems to dominate this site. Secondly I find that there is a lot of nudity on dA, which I wish to avoid. I'll probably still be around, but less than before. My Flickr account is located at: [link]

As a photographer I can only witness God's creation and our treatment of it. For my complete failure he gave his life on the cross and saved me from hell.
